Yes, I’m not joking, this homemade shower melt recipe only uses 4 simple, all natural ingredients.
Shower melts are like bath bombs for those who might loathe the idea of spending time soaking in a nice warm bath. I must admit I was completely dumbfounded when a co-worker admitted to me that the idea of baths really grossed her out. Which do you prefer showers or baths?
Nevertheless, whether you prefer showers or take them out of convenience, this recipe will definitely spice up your shower time routine.
Now, there are a ton of essential oils you can use in this recipe. But, since we just welcomed my favorite season, fall, I thought cardamom and cassia would be the perfect choice for this diy.
What is Cardamom Essential Oil Good For?
Diffuse to help clear airways.

Tip: Cassia is considered a hot oil. So, while Cassia is safe in this shower melt recipe, it is not safe to use in your bath or directly on the skin.
Homemade Shower Melt Recipe
Baking Soda – 2 cups
Water – ½ to 2/3 cups
25 drops of essential oil (I used 13 drops of both cardamom and cassia)
How to Make Homemade Shower Melts
Combine baking soda and water in a small bowl. Mix well.
Add 25 drops of essential oil to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
Pack mixture into small silicone molds and allow to set overnight.
To Use: place a tab in your shower away from the direct flow of water and enjoy the at-home spa moment. Store in an airtight container, this will prevent the volatile compounds of the oil from evaporating into the air. Use within 1 week.
