a haven for the adventurous homebody

meet DANIELLE

a homebody, always up for an adventure

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I have spent most of my life in Suffolk County. While the city pulled at my heart strings all throughout my 20’s, the country and wide open spaces are calling to me now.

I went to undergrad at Fairfield University. Go Stags!

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I love sharing how all areas of life are connected as well as, new ways to optimize health and wellness.

I am passionate about prevention and a natural approach to healthcare.  So, incorporating natural solutions into my wellness routine has become a daily habit.

2020 forced our family to take a closer look at the education system, and ultimately we decided to homeschool our girls. We survived our first year, and signed up for year two!

The tail end of 2020 also brought me home full time. So, I am learning how to navigate life as a full time, stay at home mom. That means I spend most of my time with our girls, homeschooling, homemaking, and getting creative in the kitchen.  So, get ready for some healthy-ish recipes too!

Welcome to my happy place, where I get to share all about homeschooling, renovating our cozy farmhouse cottage, and our Tennessee adventures!

Back in February of 2016, my husband, Justin and I, sold our home on Long Island, packed up our things, and moved clear across the country (with our then 18 month old daughter) to San Diego. We didn’t know a soul when we arrived, and most people thought we were crazy. But, we knew we just had to take the leap and create our own adventure.

Even though we ultimately decided the west coast is not for us (well at least Southern California), we wouldn’t trade in the experience for the world. San Diego is where we welcomed our second daughter after all.

In the summer of 2019, we experienced our second cross country move, and headed right back home to where Justin and I were born and raised, Long Island, New York. The funny thing is that by the time we took our second cross country trip, our youngest daughter was just 18 months old. What a silly coincidence!

Anyway, that’s where I am writing to you from today, our home on the North Shore of Long Island. We picked a cute little house right around the block from the beach, close to the village, preserves, and have met some wonderful people along the way.

However, I must admit, Long Island is not going to be the final stop for our family. Our future plans don’t seem to fit into what Long Island has to offer. Well, that is at the price you have to pay to live comfortably.

But don’t worry, you will join us on the journey, and be able to watch it all unfold. One way to make sure you won’t miss out on the adventure is by joining our email list!
