How to Use On Guard Protective Blend
On Guard Protective Blend is one of doTERRA’s top ten essential oils. Meaning it’s one of those oils that’s good to have on hand any time of year. With a spicy, energizing, uplifting aroma, On Guard protects against environmental threats, and supports a healthy immune function.
ONGUARD THREE WAYS
A blend of five essential oils, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Wild Orange, Clove, and Rosemary, this proprietary blend can be used aromatically, topically and internally. This oil is so popular it has its own suite of products, from a cleaner concentrate to throat drops and sanitizing wipes. There are a ton of ways to utilize the immune boosting benefits of OnGuard.
AROMATICALLY
OnGuard can be used in a diffuser, room/multi purpose cleaner spray bottle. But, since this oil is well known for its ability to cleanse the air, let’s talk about some blends you can add to your diffuser:

3 drops On Guard
3 drop Tea Tree
Purify the Air
3 drops On Guard
4 drops Lemon
Stay Well
2 drops:
On Guard
Wild Orange
Peppermint
Fall Breeze
3 drops On Guard
2 drops Wild Orange
1 drop Cinnamon Bark
1 drop Douglas Fir
HOW TO USE ON Guard TOPICALLY
If you have sensitive skin, be sure to dilute this essential oil with your carrier oil of choice. I usually go with fractionated coconut oil but, if you don’t have it on hand, olive oil or coagulated coconut oil works too. One of my favorite ways to use this oil is by applying it to the spine and bottoms of my (and my kids) feet. Just be careful because this oil is photosensitive. I only apply this oil topically right before bed time.

Here’s a great DIY you will want to back pocket for later, especially if you’re looking for a quick and easy hand soap:
¼ cup unscented liquid castile soap
1 tablespoon fractionated coconut oil
10 drops On Guard
Pour all ingredients into a 16 oz glass bottle. Top off with water, and give a good shake. Good to go!

HOW TO USE ON GUARD INTERNALLY
On Guard is one of doTERRA’s essential oils that is safe to use internally. In fact, just add 2-3 drops to a veggie capsule for an immunity boost. Or, if you’re looking for an afternoon snack, soak sliced apples in water with 1 drop of On Guard and 2 drops Lemon for an immune boost instead.
One On Guard product our family can’t do without is the toothpaste. Our youngest is hooked on it and refuses to use anything else. So, we always make sure to add it to our monthly LRP order.
Did you know that one drop of On Guard in a 4 oz glass of water acts as a fabulous mouthwash?
