Let’s face it, thanks to inflation money is a little tight for all of us these days. It kind of feels like a reset that brings us all back to the drawing board to recalibrate our spending. And, our budgets more than ever are front of mind.

But, it also alerts us to some items we may have been overspending on too, and this allows us to cut those items out if necessary. Or, at the very least reign in the spending. One of the first places Justin and I look to when we need to tighten the budget is our grocery bill.

When times are good, we like to gravitate to convenience items. And, believe it or not, granola is one of those convenience items. The brand that Justin likes is about $5-$6 a bag for less than two cups.

I know, not exactly a budget buster but, when you consider the other convenience items we typically purchase it adds up. So, in an effort to be more frugal, self-sufficient, and sharpen my homestead skills, I decided to try and make granola here at home.

Spoiler Alert: Justin, Nora and I love it! Justin eats it with some fruit. Nora uses it to top off her yogurt, and I grab some when I need a little snack.
