Master Bedroom Refresh Style Board

Master Bedroom Refresh Style Board | Danielle Ravitch

Now, that the girls’ bedroom is nearly complete, I have my heart set on a refresh for the master bedroom too! It has been almost two years since we have been in our current rental home, and we have been slow to make any changes. How do you feel about decorating a rental space? Do you think it’s worth the investment?

I am personally getting over the transitional feeling of it all. The problem I run into is simply not knowing how long we plan on residing in a rental so, it just never seemed fitting to put any extra effort into the space. But, that mentality has put a serious damper on day to day life. To be honest, most days I take a look around and I feel like I’m living in a college dorm.

So, even if we only have one year left here in our rental home, I fully believe any changes we make will be 100% worth it. And, for me, it’s time to learn more about using design to create a comfy and cozy home…on a budget of course!

IDEAS FOR UPDATING OUR SMALL MASTER BEDROOM

For the girls’ bedroom refresh, I decided on a classic, natural, and minimal style. My plan is to translate that bohemian aesthetic throughout our entire home.

Varena Arched Wall Mirror (Urban Outfitters) – I am in love with the simple elegance of this mirror. I plan to rest this mirror off to one side of our dresser along with a potted plant, and table lamp.

Nottingham Spindle Metal Bed (Walmart) – I seem to be on a metal bed kick, huh? Well, to be honest I was really looking forward to an upholstered headboard. But, we have a cat that wreaks havoc when everyone is asleep. You should see my couch! So, I’d rather not take the chance, and this antique dark bronze version fits the bill.

Sansevieria in Bohemian Pot (Flora Store) – I have this goal of filling my house with low maintenance plants. I am working on my green thumb. There is this snake plant that I purchased a few weeks ago…. it’s still alive!! I love the warmth plants bring to a home. Not to mention, the health benefits – all natural air purification, which leads to a better night’s sleep.

MORE IDEAS FOR A SIMPLE BEDROOM REFRESH

Madison Park Margot Comforter Set (Bed Bath & Beyond) – How cozy does this comforter set look? I love how it’s stylish with the textured elements yet, classic and simple.

Handmade Hanging Wall Basket Decor (The Flower Bungalow, Amazon) – I can’t decide if this set would look better climbing the wall on the opposite side of our dresser mirror, or close to the foot of our bed, next to a built in bookshelf. Alls I know is that I am going to find a way to incorporate them into our bedroom.

Mandy Table Lamp (Urban Outfitters) – This lamp was added to the style board for the girls’ room but, it didn’t make it. There are three sconces, and five windows in their room. The need for extra lighting is just not there. The master bedroom on the other hand? Well, its like the cave room. It sits in the back of the house, and is north facing. This lamp belongs in our master.

Fresco Tribal Geometric Rug (Well Woven) – The minute I saw this rug, I knew I had to have it. While our bedroom is small, this rug would truly make a huge impact.
