Nora is Seven!

My beautiful girl,

You are seven years old, and I am in disbelief of how we have found ourselves here so quickly. You are kind-hearted, loving, generous, compassionate, and a ball of energy. With every year that passes I just wish we could slow down time a bit more so, I can live fully in each and every moment I am blessed to share with you.

You wake up nearly every morning snuggling your cat, Lola. During morning snuggles there are equal amounts baby talk and sneezes that follow. At bedtime, you are usually wearing your favorite princess nightgown, requesting drops of Copaiba, and endless bedtime stories. Each and every day is an adventure with you, there is always something new you want to learn, try or explore.

You are creative. You love to paint with watercolors, draw, make up your own stories, sew new clothes for your dolls, and use your imagination in almost everything you do.

You are generous. You love to make everyone you meet feel special – whether it’s giving away one of your favorite dolls, necklaces, hair clips, or simply a kind word. You have a giving heart, and get so much joy when you can make someone else happy.

You are a hummingbird. You never stop moving. At the park, you are known for introducing yourself to a new friend, then saying “try to catch me!” and running off so fast, he/she will just instinctively chase after you. You have so much energy! So much so, that we are in disbelief on the rare occasion we catch you yawning or when your “party girl voice” sneaks out.

You are smart. You love math, art, music and science. You eagerly point out word families, and consonant blends we’ve worked on together throughout the year. I am proud of how much you have been able to learn this year, and cannot wait to see how much you will grow in second grade!

You are “so fashion”. You have an eye for putting together your outfits, and coordinating them with the accessories you have on hand. And, I’m pretty sure you believe no outfit is complete without a princess crown, or fancy necklace. You have a playful approach to style, and I cannot wait to see how your fashion sense evolves.

You’re a goose. Whether it’s trying to memorize knock- knock jokes, rhyming all sorts of words together, or making funny faces – you always try to make us laugh!

You are my beautiful baby. I love you more than I will ever be able to express in words. You and your sister are my greatest gifts in life. Just know that no matter how old you are, you will always be my baby. I love you forever and always!

BIG SISTER NORA

As a big sister, Nora is the best! Don’t get me wrong, there are days when Nora and Sadie have more fun pushing each other’s buttons. But, somewhere along the line they always end up hugging, with huge grins on their faces, professing their love to one another.

Nora and Sadie love to use their imaginations! Sometimes I will check in on them in their room pretending to be cats, detectives, playing mom + sweetie, princesses, the list can go on and on really. Nora loves to help Sadie with her schoolwork too. Together they will work on math and letters, and very often Nora will quiz Sadie on the colors of the rainbow or addition facts.

Nora has always been very kind and loving toward her little sister. It warms my heart to see their relationship grow, and I love overhearing conversations that start with “Sadie, you’re my best friend…”.

Favorite Foods: Apples, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, steak, broccoli, buttered noodles, pancakes, French toast, oreos, pulled pork, boneless spare ribs, ice cream + milkshakes. Oops! How could I forget, Dino Nuggets too!
Potential Favorite Color: Red-Orange. Nora is still trying to figure this one out; it’s too hard to choose!

Wake Up Time/Bed Time: Nora usually wakes up around 7:00 or 7:30 am . Bedtime is at 7:00 pm, when Justin and I will take turns reading a few chapters before lights out.
