Happy Tuesday friends! Our house is quite chilly right now but, today promises to be sunny + 60 degrees (hooray!!). To be honest, after a couple of days of rain we are all itching to get outside.

All of a sudden, I realized that although I shared my meal planning framework with you, I never gave you a template to organize your weekly menu or arrange your grocery list. So, let’s fix that right now…

YOUR SIMPLE MENU PLANNER

This blank menu planner is simple and straightforward. You will have a place to outline your weekly meals from Sunday to Saturday.

With this free pdf download you can map out each day:

  • Breakfast
  • A.M. Snack
  • Lunch
  • P.M. Snack
  • Dinner

Those snack times are crucial if you have little ones at home or if you are someone who eats smaller meals.

Top Three Benefits of Menu planning

Spend less time + money at the grocery store. I am the first to admit that I absolutely loathe wasting time (and money) in the grocery store. I am not a shopper. So, arriving with a plan of action that will guide me through the aisles effortlessly and efficiently is a necessity.

Goodness me, I almost forgot to mention that this weekly menu planner also comes with a grocery list template so you can easily outline your next food shopping trip.

Having a grocery list on hand will help you feel relaxed and at ease when you walk into your local market to go food shopping. I recommend shopping the perimeter of the store first, then heading into the middle aisles. Have you noticed that’s were the processed foods are kept?

Intentionally nourish your body with healthy foods.  Carving the time out of your schedule to plan your meals will allow you to design a healthier week. Maybe there is a recipe the whole family enjoys but, it isn’t the healthiest. This can be your opportunity to find substitutions to lighten that recipe up.  Or, perhaps you plan to double up dinner so, you and your spouse have a healthy lunch to head into the office with for the next day. Ya know, instead of spending an extra $10-$15 on a sandwich or salad. Is it me or is lunch becoming just as expensive as dinner when you order out?

Avoid Unnecessary Food Waste. Do you find yourself clearing out more than you’d like from your fridge to feed your garbage can? Yea, every now and then I’m right there with you. But, it is an opportunity to bring awareness to how your planning your menu, and spending your money.

According to the NRDC, “40% of the food in the United States is never eaten”. That’s shocking! But, as with every other cultural shift, the best place to spark change is within the walls of your own home.
