Apple Cinnamon Sourdough Bread in a Cast Iron Skillet
Apple cinnamon sourdough bread starts with brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Combined with vanilla extract, sourdough starter, and applesauce for amazing flavor. This sourdough skillet bread is soft, delicious, and makes everyone head back (to the skillet) for seconds!
Springing forward made this weekend go by in a flash but, even with the late start to our Sunday I headed into the kitchen to whip up this breakfast from scratch. To be honest, making an apple cinnamon bread seems more geared towards the fall season. But, since winter seems to want to hang on a little bit longer than necessary this year, I say anything goes!

TIPS
- Prep your cast iron skillet. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees, and place the skillet inside for 10 minutes. Once 10 minutes is up, add EVCO (extra virgin coconut oil) to the skillet, then your apple cinnamon sourdough bread mixture.
- If you love cinnamon, add MORE! This recipe uses a small amount of cinnamon, but you have wiggle room to add more for extra flavor.
- Add brown sugar mixture to sourdough bread once in pan, then swirl with a knife to create a marble effect in the batter.
