9 Recipes to Try When You go Overboard Apple Picking

Ahhh, the first weekend of Fall is here! My favorite season is finally upon us, and I cannot wait to take part in all things Fall. In fact, this weekend the fam is going to an apple festival. After our hometown football game of course.

But, in the spirit of the season, I wanted to share 9 apple recipes that are sure to cure your craving for apples this fall. Not to mention, put those apples you pick over at the orchard to good use!

Yummy + Delicious Apple Recipes

Apple Pie (Little Spoon Farm) every seasoned baker is sure to have the ingredients listed in this recipe on hand. Amy even shares a recipe for making your own pie crust too! As well as, her preferred apples to use in the recipe, and I was so glad to see that our favorite, Pink Lady, made the list!

Apple Crumble (The Chunky Chef)  – I have a jar of caramel sauce sitting in my fridge that would go perfectly with this recipe. Again, I have all of the ingredients on hand to make this work. You should note, this recipe takes 6 apples ( 1 apple per serving).

Apple Crisp (Tastes Better From Scratch) – If you’re short on time but want loads of flavor, Lauren has got you covered! This recipe just takes 50 minutes, including prep time. Just imagine the sweet smells of cinnamon, and vanilla wafting through your kitchen. Yum!

Apple Tart (Ina Garten, Food Network) – My go to recipe. I’ve always been somewhat afraid/intimidated of making an apple pie. It always seemed way over my head. Enter in the apple tart. Equally delicious yet, way less pie crust. And, I can say from experience this recipe from Ina Garten does not disappoint.

Easy Fall Recipes

Mulled Apple Cider (Pick Up Limes) – Of late, my favorite snow day cocktail is mulled wine. But, let’s be honest, I’m not very picky when snowed in. I still like to be festive though! And that’s what this recipe will help you achieve this Fall. I mean, can you just picture yourself in your best flannel, and chelsea boots. Wrapped up in the coziest of faux fur blankets, while your kiddos make s’mores around the bonfire, and you’re basking in the glow of the memory at hand, all the while sipping this incredibly easy mulled apple cider in your Adirondack chair? Oh yes, me too. That’s why I’ve added the ingredients to my shopping list, and you should too! Psssst….don’t forget the ingredients for the smores, hehehe.

P.S. – Oily fam, I plan on swapping out the cardamon pods for…you guessed it…cardamom essential oil. Also, don’t forget to pick up your favorite bourbon/brandy.

Apple Butter (Tastes of Lizzy) – Grab your slow cooker! This recipe will have you enjoying the sweet taste of apples all Fall long. Imagine apple butter, on a stack of sourdough pancakes… delicious! You should know, this recipe makes about two cups of apple butter, which (according to the author) equals about 20 servings.

Homemade Applesauce (All Recipes) – Sadie is still obsessed with applesauce, I would gladly trade in store bought for homemade. And, this recipe makes that option seem very easy!

Apple Bread (Once Upon a Chef) –  this cinnamon swirl apple bread looks like something you would pick up at your local bakery. Imagine gifting your neighbors with this tasty treat. I might just do that!

Caramel Candy Apple (Just a Taste) – the caramel apples Kelly’s made look absolutely delicious! I think these would be the perfect treat for the beginning of a fall playdate.

Which apple do you think was the clear favorite throughout these recipes?

This may seem obvious to everyone but, I feel like it’s a necessary disclaimer – make sure to have your favorite vanilla ice cream on hand when you make (the majority of) these recipes. There’s nothing like a warm apple dessert with a scoop of vanilla melting right beside it…match.made.in heaven!
