Taking the Time to Evaluate My Habits
This year, June is a month of reflection for me. Much like the start of a new year in January is for most of us. I can’t explain why, but I have an overwhelming feeling to take a look at my habits, goals, mindset, etc. and make some changes. Maybe you’re feeling the pull to make some changes too?
How to evaluate your habits
Luckily, I’ve done a lot of research in this area. I have even been certified as a holistic health coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in my pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. But, there always seems to be a gap between having the knowledge and applying it. Am I right?
In this case, I want to focus on infusing more healthy activities into my daily routine, and eliminate a debilitating habit that has a firm grasp on my day to day life. In the past, I have triggered change by partaking in a detox/cleanse. That’s how I gave up coffee two years ago.
Although it can be challenging, I like this approach because it gives your body and mind a clean slate to spark change. Truthfully, I am seriously considering this approach for my June reset too. Another idea? Well, this resource is amazing if you don’t know where to start, or if your lifestyle needs a bit of a finetuning, The Lifestyle Edit. It’s the perfect free resource, packed with loads of information on the 8 pillars to whole body health.
Whether you are looking for advice on how to reduce your toxic load, get better sleep, or build better habits – there’s a free resource waiting for you to guide you on your journey to radiant health. It is a resource I always turn to when I go through the process of evaluating my habits.

My Habit(s) trouble spots
As an early riser, my morning routine is pretty solid. However, lately I have been noticing that by midday, I start to go off the rails (or lose sight of my intentions). So, this go around my focus will be on creating an afternoon routine. One that helps me to remain calm in the chaos, take a few moments to breathe, and re-center to honor myself (and my goals) through my habits.
Secondly, it’s time to take a look at the goals I wrote down for myself at the beginning of the year, and decide if they still make sense. And in the process, releasing the idea that letting go of a goal or deciding it does not fit for me anymore, is not a sign of failure but a sign of growth.
Lastly, I am not sure why but, I have a hard time accepting change. It usually takes a lot for me to admit that change is warranted, then a bit longer for me to get on board. In some areas of life, resistance to change works, but in others it can really hold you back. So, this will be another area of focus for me this June. However, I have a feeling this will take a bit longer to unpack….
Here on the homestead, June promises to be filled with lots of summer fun (only 17 days left of homeschool!), projects around the farmhouse, and positive, healthy change.
What’s in store for you this June?
