Manifesting Magic A New Ritual for 2023

Have you ever wanted to connect with something bigger than yourself? Something that guides you in focusing on the good, and developing positive emotions as well as, positive self-talk? Well, manifesting or manifestation might just be the practice you need to make room for in your spiritual journey, or to enhance your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be honest, manifestation has a sort of stigma wrapped around it, am I right? At first, I was one of the naysayers unable to comprehend the ideology. You’re saying my thoughts construct my reality? And, changing my thoughts can deeply change my life?

Well, if it’s that easy why isn’t everyone doing it? 

Oh, I had many questions steeped in sarcasm and (my) limiting beliefs that kept me from implementing many of the practices I’ve been reading about for years. But, for some reason whenever I was in search of some enlightenment I always turned (was attracted) to a book about manifestation. Interesting right?  

My 2023 Word Of The Year

There are common practices suggested throughout each of the law of attraction books that I have read so far, like meditation, journaling, affirmations, etc. Once I started slowly implementing these aforementioned practices into my routine, angel numbers started popping up everywhere.  Better known as my own personal message from the universe, letting me know that I am on the right path. 

Which leads into sharing my 2023 word of the year – SPIRITUAL.  

Here’s the thing, I believe that spirituality is a major component of whole body health. And whether or not you consider yourself a religious person, manifestation has the potential to deepen your relationship with the universe, your creator, every living thing that walks (or is planted) on this earth, and most importantly…yourself. Pretty powerful stuff right?

So, with that in mind, I am creating space for new (manifesting) habits that will help me take the next steps in my spiritual journey in 2023. More on that in a bit…

The Definition of Manifestation

Manifestation and the law of attraction are one in the same. “The law of attraction says like attracts like, and so as you think a thought, you are also attracting like thoughts to you”, Rhonda Byrne (The Secret). In other words, if you are thinking purely negative thoughts about yourself, those negative thoughts will continue to surface in your physical reality as well. Like attracts like.

So, if you are ready to positively reframe your perspective of yourself, and the world around you, the principles of the law of attraction can be your guide to doing so. 

Intrigued but not yet ready to dive in? Try this to start, continually remind yourself that happiness resides inside of you with the affirmation – I am happiness. Set a reminder on your phone to go off randomly throughout the day for next week. And, see if you feel happier at the end. You can switch out happiness with however it is you wish to feel – joy, love, vibrant, healthy, pure energy – you name it. Just give it a try!

The four items you will need to start manifesting successfully? Positive thoughts (what you would like to manifest), backed by positive feelings (how you will feel when you succeed in your desired manifestation), action (small consistent steps forward), and faith (belief that the universe will follow through). You can learn more about that manifestation equation from Jordanna Levin, in her book Make It Happen. I highly recommend it. 

My Manifestation Method for 2023

After realizing that I wanted spirituality to be a prime focus for the new year, I decided to piece together some of my favorite rituals that I uncovered through my research thus far. So, here we go, I’ll briefly describe my manifestation method for 2023:

Morning/Night – it is important that you spend the first/last 30 – 60 minutes of your day screen free. This is your time. Do not let the outside world influence you, or your mind. During this time, I review my intentions for the day ahead (my overarching desire), then I focus on my affirmation statements. Doing this allows me to start/end the day with a positive outlook, and with my intentions front of mind.

Let Your Tech Work For You – while I hate to admit it, I am pretty much attached to my phone. Unless I forget it somewhere and then all bets are off. And yes, this happens often. My phone knows I want nothing to do with it, lol. But, when I do have it on hand, I set random phone reminders to go off throughout the day (like I mentioned above). My notifications remind me to show gratitude to the universe for what is happening in my reality at that very moment. Secondly, I am reminded to make time for breath work. It’s only 2 -3 minutes per notification. But, while I focus on my breathing, I also recite my affirmations. Again, reminding me to keep my intentions and desires front of mind, while promoting a state of calm.

Journaling – every morning I pen a short letter to the Universe, sharing what my intention is for the day ahead. Literally, 2 or 3 sentences but life changing. This session is more about how I want to feel during the day. Whether I want to feel confident, reverent, open, brave – this is te time that I put that desire out to the universe.

Recording gratitude for my two tiny humans – I purchased this little pink book, “Mom’s One Line a Day” for each of my girls when they were born. I rarely remembered to open it until now. After I pen my letter to the Universe, I write in their books. Basically, I scan the day before, for a moment that made me laugh, thankful or feel love. It’s my way of showing gratitude to my girls, and it’s an exercise that has made me more observant throughout the day.

New Moon Rituals – planning for an entire year is overwhelming to me. While I have a big picture in mind, scheduling action steps throughout the year ahead makes me feel a bit claustrophobic. I need a little wiggle room. So, I will plan for the quarter, at most. 

This year, I am implementing new moon manifestation sessions. Basically, this is how I envision this going down – sage my home to release negative energy and welcome in the positive energy. Create an essential oil blend to enhance my manifestation process, which I will use in a roller bottle and diffuser daily. Like an anchor. I view this manifestation session as a moment to realign with my intentions and desires, and pivot if need be. Or, simply remind myself to stay the course. 

Full Moon Rituals –  I will also be incorporating full moon rituals in 2023. The full moon is a time of reflection and rest. So, each full moon I plan to prioritize self care. Whether I am headed to the salt cave, a massage session, or infrared sauna – it’s “me” time to sit alone with my thoughts. This is also a time for reflection, so I will be reviewing/journaling about my intentions from the past month, see what to let go of, and what intentions to add. This session will heavily impact how I plan for the month ahead. 

Again, this manifestation method is based on what I have researched so far, what excites me and what I believe will help me to manifest my desires for 2023.

How to Start Manifesting

I believe that the manifestation process is deeply personal. It’s an exercise that needs to be uncovered by the manifestor him/herself. That’s why I recommend doing some research of your own to decide which practices will be right for you. However, I have no issue sharing the resources that have helped me choose to pursue this path.
