Energy Boosting Essential Oils
Do you have a hard time keeping your energy levels up during the day?! The shorter days and longer nights during the winter are known for throwing us a little off track. If you are looking for ways to energize your winter through nutrition, then you should check out Tuesday’s post Energize Your Winter. Today we are going to chat about 4 essential oils you can incorporate into your daily routine to boost your energy anytime of year.
PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
Of course, you had to know I was going to mention Peppermint. When used on the skin or inhaled, Peppermint essential oil can provide an invigorating and cooling effect. Peppermint is a great essential oil, not only for alertness + energy but for head and muscle tension, and digestive discomfort as well.
Focus + Uplift – Grab a 10 ml roller bottle and add
8 drops Rosemary
6 drops Bergamot
6 drops Wild Orange
4 drops Peppermint
2 drops Frankincense
Top the roller with your carrier oil of choice, I always reach for fractionated coconut oil. To use, simply shake the bottle and then apply as desired. This roller is perfect for uplifting your mood and to help you focus!
Bergamot
Bergamot is known as the oil of self-acceptance. When used on the skin or inhaled, Bergamot essential oil can help inspire courage, self-love, and confidence. Apply this oil to the back of your neck or bottoms of your feet to experience its restorative properties. Or simply apply Bergamot essential oil over your heart, and inhale for a boost in self-confidence + optimism.
I love to pair 3 drops Bergamot oil in the diffuser with 1 drop of Arborvitae, its smells so good together!
Did you know Bergamot is a citrus oil? Because I had no idea. Answer in the comments below!
Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs to cook with, and one that I will try to grow in my herb garden this year for sure! But did you know it can help improve your energy + focus? Now, while I love the smell of Rosemary, I do not want to smell like it because I would probably always be hungry. So, I will stick to using this oil in my diffuser, and in my cooking. If you are looking for a good refreshing Rosemary diffuser recipe, give this one a try – 2 drops Rosemary, 1 drop Lemon, 1 drop Basil.
Fun fact: In ancient times, Rosemary was used to drive away evil spirits.
And be sure to check out this Rosemary Mashed Potato recipe, yum!!
BASIL
When inhaled, Basil essential oil can help promote a sense of focus. Basil is a great essential oil for easing discomfort when applied to the skin and can help give your body the relief it needs. I make sure to have this oil on hand for meatball Monday because it adds extra flavor to my recipe, that the whole family loves!
Some other energy boosting oils that I did not mention are –
Wild Orange
Lemon
Cypress
Douglas Fir
Cardamom
Spearmint…
Honestly, there are a lot of oils you could use, and the ten (10) I just shared with you today are a great place to start. But, if you have already tried the oils that I mentioned here today and need some alternatives, just reach out to me and we can work together to find one that works best for you! Remember essential oils are not one size all because we have unique needs. But, trust me, I know we will be able to find something together that supports you.
