Fall Fashion Hunting Vol. 2
It’s still warm here in Tennessee, that means fabrics like linen and cotton truly help ease the effects of the heat and humidity. Especially for those of us that run hot like I do! Let me tell you, coming from the (typically) mild, coastal summers on Long Island, and having a few years of the dry hot San Diego summers under my belt…southern summers are an entirely different beast.
And, when I spotted this dress, I instantly fell in love. I know, love is a strong word here but just look at it! A beautiful linen wrap dress that ties in the back (yes, there’s enough fabric to make a cute bow) and has pockets?! Yes please. I could see myself wearing this dress for many years to come. Whether it’s out and about or spending the day here at the cottage this dress would be in heavy rotation. Pssst…. the brilliant idea just popped into my head to buy 2!
I’m a tall girl but, that doesn’t mean I don’t like to wear heels. These Vada espadrilles from Sam Edelman are gorgeous. They come in a few options but, I like the “other” color choice. They are on (final) sale right now!
Typically, I am not a fan of (wearing) gold jewelry. I just don’t think it complements me very well. But I think I could totally rock this whisper gold chain and get away with it!
Now, I did mention that it is still hot and humid here in Tennessee but, in the early mornings and evenings, it can be chilly too. When I say chilly, I mean high sixties/low seventies. Regardless, a light jacket or wrap of some sort is needed. Especially if you’ve acclimated to the hot and humid temperatures. This cashmere wrap from J.Crew (in Birch) is a definite splurge but another timeless fashion staple. It is on sale right now but, I’m not going to lie, it’s still pricey even on sale. But, this cashmere wrap would look so amazing with this dress, and I could wear it with so many other outfits too! Do you think it’s worth the splurge? Because I totally do 🙂
Portland Leather is trying hard to pull me away from my obsession with Madewell bags. And, it might just be working! Especially, with their Almost Perfect options where you can pick up a beautiful leather bag for a fraction of the cost. I love this round crossbody bag in nutmeg but they have so many other desirable options if you’re in the market for a new handbag. The only thing that I would change about these bags is removing their brand name from the outside. In my view it kind of cheapens the bag, and could easily be placed inside or maybe even on an interior strap?
