A few weeks ago the girls and I headed out to Bridgehampton to visit the Children’s Museum of the East End. It’s been a goal of ours to make each Friday, field trip Friday. Which allows us the opportunity to explore and create our own adventure every week!

It was a cold, rainy day, and for this particular field trip we piled into the truck at around 10:30 in the morning. Giving us plenty of time to make it out east before our noon reservation. Nora and Sadie were giddy with anticipation of our arrival, and happily engaged throughout our 2 hour reservation at this hands on, play museum.

INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS AT THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF THE EAST END

This east end museum is perfect for children ages 2 – 6. And, located in Bridgehampton, New York directly across the street from the South Fork Natural History Museum + Nature Center. Notably food for thought when planning out your itinerary.

In any event, most of the museum’s interactive exhibits are located off CMEE’s Main Street – a farmstand, windmill, library, soda fountain, kitchen, post office, fire station and pirate ship are the main exhibits just waiting to be explored.

While we spent time at every exhibit, Nora and Sadie enjoyed playing in the kitchen, and soda fountain the most. In the kitchen, they worked together to prep, and cook meals. And, served up some delicious milkshakes at the soda fountain.

The girls also enjoyed creating their very own puppet show in the library.

Overall, the girls enjoyed their time at CMEE. However, when we visited, there were a ton of toddlers running about, leaving my girls to feel a bit out of place during our stay. And, when I ultimately asked Nora and Sadie which children’s museum they liked better, they both chose LICM. You can read more about our visit to LICM right here.

Okay, I am keeping this one short and sweet! My nightly calm, herbal tea is kicking in. And, after a week of sickness circulating throughout the house, I need some rest.
