3 Simple Daily Skincare Habits for Healthy Skin

healthy skin

Hello from Tennessee! The land of the unforgiving sun, and humidity so thick you can cut it with a knife. Honestly, someone has to tell good old mother nature that we are transitioning into Fall because I don’t think she got the memo here in East Tennessee.

All jokes aside, this is my first southern Fall, and while I love that the warm weather is said to hold on well into the holiday season, I can do without 90 degree days. Let’s turn that number  down on the thermometer to about 75 okay?

One thing I have noticed is that my sensitive skin has been pushed to the brink. Usually, temps are a bit lower in New York by this time, and my skin has been enjoying some cooler days. Sprinkled in with some remembrances of summer here and there.

But, not here…

And so, along with changes to our daily routine (since our move), my skincare routine needed to be revamped just a bit too. And, after adding these three simple skincare products I’ve noticed a big difference. My skin feels more hydrated, softer, and youthful.

A few things you should know about my skin type – it’s dry, sensitive, and on the cosmetic scale I’m somewhere in between porcelain and ivory. And yes, I’ve tried my fair share of skincare products. It’s been a journey.

But, what I’ve come to realize when it comes to skincare (and most things in life) is the simpler, the better.

Let’s talk a little bit about the three skincare products that have been saving my (healthy) skin.

Vitamin E OIl

Vitamin E Oil, Healthy skin

I must wash my hands a hundred times a day! Maybe, maybe not but, it sure feels like I do. Well, I’m all about being clean but, my hands are continuously stripped of their natural oils. And, my nails and sensitive skin started to show a bit worse for the wear.

So, I have made it a habit to rub vitamin e oil into my hands and nail beds after I wash my hands (in our bathroom). And, this simple habit has made a world of difference. My nails look healthier, and my hands are more hydrated.

If you’re noticing your hands look a bit dry, and a little bit older than your age, I challenge you to incorporate this habit into your daily routine. I grabbed this brand at Walmart because it was the first I saw, and I just wanted to get started. I have no complaints about the results.

Rosewater Refreshing Facial Mist

Rosewater

This bottle sits in my medicine cabinet. Everytime I find myself in the bathroom, I spritz it all over my face and neck for a little pick me up. Rosewater is great for reawakening the skin, and mood. I mean, when have you ever smelled a bouquet of roses and felt worse afterwards? ..::unless you’re allergic::..

Rose Oil and Vor-Mag Water work together to refresh, set and soften the skin. After a little over one month of using this skincare product, I have a bit more than a third of the bottle left. A small investment to make for glowing, healthy skin if you ask me!

doTERRA Lip Balm

Lip Balm

Made of all natural ingredients, I have this lip balm within arms reach at all times. In my purse, dresser drawer (which will be moved to my bedside table when we get one), and medicine cabinet. If you’re me, there is no excuse for dry lips.

doTERRA has three different lip balms in their spa line, and I have all three! Each lip balm has a unique combination of essential oils along with coconut, moringa seed and avocado oils to soften and hydrate lips.
