Winter Break 2021

And, we’re back! I cannot believe it is almost March. As I write this post, everyone is asleep, and it has me thinking… I have got to find a better time to sit and process my thoughts so that I can better share them with you. But, I am sure that is something that will come with time.

If you watch my channel on YouTube (or had the chance to read my last post), all about ways to feel better in your body and create a healthy home, holistically. Then you know that last week was winter break for our family. And, it was so good! More on that later…

My goal for January + February was for consistency, and I am happy to say that I definitely achieved that. The best part is that I achieved it while also scheduling in some down time to rest, recharge and reconnect (with my family + myself). I am a huge believer that rest is a huge part of our overall wellness routine but, I do admit that it is a challenge to schedule it into my everyday. Or maybe better said, carve out the free time I currently have towards restorative rest, and not feel guilty about it.  Maybe you feel the same too?

But, the benefits far outweigh the deficits if you take the chance to recalibrate your thoughts towards rest and reconnecting…

There's been some changes around here...

While winter break was definitely a week unplugged, I let my ambitions push me forward and I completely changed the footprint of this site. From my homepage to my resource library, things have been completely revamped! And to be honest, I find myself googling my own site to see the progress I’ve made and the focus I have achieved. I have come a very long way from my very first blog post…

So, I invite you to take a look at the new/uncovered message that my downtime has allowed me to share with you –

Home – now this may seem obvious…but, I decided that sharing my expertise with fellow moms (new + experienced) is the place I need to be. This realization no longer has me throwing spaghetti at a wall. I know who I want to serve, and my journey/progress forward will reflect that.

Mentorship – Yes!!! I have finally captured how I want to define my signature coaching program. I invite you to take a closer look at how my 1:1 mentorship or Lifestyle Launch Strategy Session can guide you to the next level of your health + wellness.

About – yes, I even took the time to reconstruct my About page. And, while its far from perfect, its closer to where I want it to be…

Natural Solutions Made Easy – If you are curious about integrating natural solutions into your daily routine but are not quite sure on where to start… then you need to check out this brand new page. I may want to tweak the title but for now, it gets the job done…

Free Digital Resources – from password protected to well, not… you should definitely give this wild + free page a look.  And yes, if you click “download” you’ll get on my email fam of motivated mamas who are loading up on free tips – but you are free to unsubscribe at any time you want.

Contact – Yes, even this page has had a little facelift. No sleep for the wicked, right?

While I did have the opportunity to accomplish a whole (heck of a) lot with my downtime during winter break. I still have a lot of remodeling to do around here. But, I truly do believe the old saying that anything worth doing takes time…

On the Homefront

Winter break was great for our diy projects around the house.  Check out this post for our latest project. Justin was able to create two radiator covers and wall mounted bookshelves.  Justin also introduced our family to Just Dance on Nintendo Switch, and both Nora and I cannot get enough of this song. Its our go to!

In other news, we were so glad we had no where to be when the snowstorms hit. I got to make my roasted vegetable soup and Nora was able to have her first proper sleigh riding experience with friends. She was apprehensive at first, that San Diego sun kept us snow free for almost four years. And, our first winter back in NY was pretty mild. But, this winter definitely did not disappoint. However, we are all pretty eager for the warmer spring weather.

Around the Web

What I’m Reading. Now, to be honest given our current political climate, I have been reading a few books to recalibrate my views.  Like this one you may have read in high school or this one from a scholar I just discovered. Now, keep in mind these books are readily available (or can be requested) at your local library. I’ve also recently picked up this book to learn more about the art of storytelling.

What I’m Listening To.  We had a 30 day trial of Sirius Satellite Radio when we picked up our new Chevy…pick-up, and the executive decision was made to keep Sirius. Now, when the kids are in the car, we have Kidz Bop on non stop. When I drive solo, its Shade 45, and yes, its the Whoolywood Shuffle on the weekends. And, Justin…well, he is all about death metal.

My Favorite Essential Oil. Yarrow|Pom. A complete gamechanger for my nighttime winter skincare routine. My skin feels hydrated, fine lines seem to fade away… I plan to use my doTERRA dollars to  invest in this gem every time I run out. It has been 100% worth it.

Home School. An update is in the works but I am happy to report that we purchased our curriculum for next year. Are you currently homeschooling or have thoughts about diving in? Let me know in the comments…

Long Island Love

Blue Point Brewery. Something about the colder weather has me reaching for Old Howling Bastard. The perfect anecdote to each and every snowstorm we’ve experienced this February…

It’s crazy to see what you can accomplish when you take a step back and get a different (maybe even better) perspective of your landscape. I hope you had a great week (or winter break), and can’t wait to unveil more changes as they come about.
